Jullien

A sweet antique French Jullien Bebe on a fully jointed French body, with brown glass set paper weight eyes, very lovely face, blonde French human hair wig, marked Jullien and 5 on the head in back.  It is about 17 inches tall, and in excellent condition.  Made in the late 19th century, it was manufactured in Paris, France by Jullien.  Many of the bisque heads were produced by Gaultier.  She has a charming character look to her face, not a typical Bebe.  With a slightly open mouth and teeth, the doll has a serene and sweet expression on her face.  The body is sturdy and well strung with good working joints.  The bisque is excellent, no hairline or damage.  A slightly raised area in the bisque, (mold flaw), is in the back of the head.  You can see it in the photos of the mark, Jullien.  dressed in a pale pink satin gown with lots of lace and tiny buttons.  There is a little golden bar pin on the dress just below the neckline.  Her outfit includes light blue shoes with rosettes on the toes, and a matching bonnet with flowers.
